Better Homes And Gardens Chicken Alfredo Recipe
I'm not sure who wrote this recipe as lemon pith is very bitter so "grating/shredding" lemon peel Iis a horrible idea and I dont u understand using bottled alfredo when making a cream reduction adds 5to 10 mins at most. I seared seasoned chicken. Added broccoli. When it was close to being done I added minced garlic & lemon ZEST. Removed chicken & broccoli (kept warm on a covered quarter sheet tray on 200 in oven. Deglazed the pan with some chicken stock (4oz). Added juice of half the lemon & 1c. Heavy cream (note you can deglaze with 2 oz white wine then add stock, lemon juice & cream). Brought to a simmer and let it reduce for about 2 mins. Then added 1/3 c. parmesan (high quality). Stir to incoproate. Place chicken and broccoli back in the pan to toss is sauce & served over orzo with lemon wedges (from other lemon half).

This recipe sounded so good and had my favorite ingredients. Unfortunately, it really missed the mark. It was slightly bitter and yet, didn't have much flavor. Pre-made alfredo sauce sounded like a good idea, but just confirmed my aversion to commercial sauces. Now, what do I do with the leftovers?

I agree with those who question the lemons, but I'd probaby try it if it was' for the use of bottled Alfredo sauce. I'd never make it. I don't use such bottled sauces beause they contain too many preservatives and other additives. Tomato-based sauces are OK, but now these.

I don't know-the concept sounds delicious but I'd have to tweak it. I wouldn't include whole lemons-pith from lemon peels and whole lemons should be removed as they are bitter. Never bought jarred or store-bought Alfredo Sauce which is actually very easy to make. And-I'd serve this w/pasta.

This dish was horrible...the chicken and veggies tasted very bitter...I guess from using the lemon slices...and bottled Alfredo sauce was not a good idea.! Two thumbs down!

What a rip... I want to make my own light alfredo sauce, not some sodium infested packaged sauce!
